Students will benefit from inspiring lectures delivered by expert professors from leading engineering schools, while also enjoying cultural activities and discovering the French way of life. The SURE program offers a unique opportunity to experience engineering in action in one of France’s most dynamic industrial regions.


But that’s not all. Participants will also work on real industry-related projects in collaboration with regional companies. This hands-on experience allows students to tackle real-world challenges, develop practical skills, and connect with industry professionals. It offers the perfect blend of academic learning, cultural discovery, and industry exposure.


Application Requirements

SURE Short Program 2026


Students wishing to apply to the SURE Short Program 2026 must submit a complete application file before the application deadline.


Application deadline: May 31, 2026


Applicants from all universities are welcome to apply to the SURE Short Program. However, participation fees may vary depending on whether the applicant’s home university has an agreement with one or more member institutions of the Lyon Saint-Étienne Engineering Alliance. Applicants are therefore encouraged to contact the international or outgoing mobility coordinator at their home university to confirm their status before applying.

Required Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:


1.    Cover Letter (Maximum length: 1 page)

A short statement explaining your motivation for applying to the SURE Short Program and your interest in participating in the academic, industrial, and cultural activities offered during the program. Applicants should also indicate which part of the program they wish to attend and briefly explain their interest in the selected track(s):


  • Part 1: Materials & Technologies for Sustainable Energy – Saint-Étienne (June 22 – July 4, 2026)


  • Part 2: Water, City and Resilient Environment – Lyon (July 6 – July 17, 2026)


  • Both parts of the program

Applicants who wish to attend both parts should explain their motivation for participating in the full SURE program.


2.   Curriculum Vitae (CV)

A one-page CV including your academic background, level of English, and relevant extracurricular or professional experiences. A photograph is optional.


3.   Copy of Passport or National ID

A copy of your passport (or national ID for students from the Schengen Area). The document must be valid for the duration of your stay in France.


4.   Letter of Commitment

The letter of commitment must be signed
